ABOUT THIS SHORT STORY

Boston, 1857: A widow still in mourning, Abigail Abbott lives an invisible, respectable life. Behind this bland facade, she battles to save the life of a woman accused of a lurid murder. Despite the fact women are forbidden from the practice law, Abigail stands in open court to defend her young charge…and risks ending up behind bars herself.
