I am a women recently retired from a career in government finance. My husband and I have young women in our family just starting their work life so I bought copies of this book thinking it would be a nice Christmas gift for them. The order came fast and I had time to read a copy prior to putting it under the tree. The book is well written, balanced, and easy to read. I especially liked how it incorporated the writers' personal life experiences. It is written by women with women in mind, but I feel the "wisdom's" apply to women and men alike. This book would make a fantastic graduation gift!
Couple of great wisdoms culled from this book, especially for Millennials. Return all calls and emails. Even if the news is not positive you'll garner lots of respect and set yourself apart from other workers. Work-Life balance and boundaries is another important section, especially in this "gig economy."
I also believe it's important to embrace new technologies at every point in your career. I hate to say it, but double-spacing after a period on your resume shows a resistance to change. I knew one guy that couldn't work without a secretary and an assistant taking dictation. Not surprisingly, he's not in the workforce anymore.
