THIS WAS A FUN READ, IN AN OVER-THE-TOP SORT OF WAY...

This was a fun read, in an over-the-top sort of way (think E. E. "Doc" Smith). Scott Pavelle does a good job of seamlessly weaving several disparate sources into a coherent whole. Don't bother trying to suspend disbelief - just hang on and enjoy the romp through the world of the 9th century as imaginatively elaborated during medieval times. Gallant heroes, evil villains, and mighty giants collide in epic battles as Rome is sacked by the Muslim hordes, and Charlemagne and his doughty knights invade Moorish Spain in retaliation.

ABOUT THIS NOVEL

Did you ever dream of being a superhero, or a knight in shining armor? Did you ever wonder what stirred the imaginations of real knights-in-training?
You’re holding it in your hands.
Invincible giants face heroic paladins as the Saracens invade Italy and France. With Charlemagne’s champions trapped in the enemy’s tower, all hope seems lost. But Roland’s sharp sword and the even sharper wit of Floripas might just be enough to beat the odds…if nothing goes wrong. Except it always does.
Join our heroes in a non-stop action adventure that has delighted knights and commoners alike for a thousand years. This modern retelling of a 1485 bestseller is sure to thrill and enchant with humor, danger, and high body-count!
